About the Cherries

According to global statistics, Turkey is the world's largest cherry producer and third largest exporter. After nearly eight years of technical and diplomatic work, the country won an access agreement to export cherries to China in 2016 and aspires to become a major source of supply for the Chinese market. So far in 2018, Turkey has exported 76,000 tons of cherries with export revenue of $161 million. China is one of the largest importers of cherries in the world, and the demand is staggering.

On March 27, the Consulate General of Turkey in Guangzhou, the Turkish Aegean Export Chamber of Commerce, together with Guangdong Imported Food Association and nine local cherry industry enterprises in Turkey jointly held the "Turkish cherry visit to Guangzhou trade docking activity".
